PLASTIC IS A PART OF OUR
EVERYDAY LIVES

So why do we continue using non-renewable petrochemicals when we could replace fossil fuel-based plastic with hemp?

WHY DO WE DO IT?

We make really good stuff and the more stuff we make, the more stuff people want.

But what happens to the old stuff that the new stuff replaces?

Well, the old stuff ends up in a landfill, sometimes in the ocean, and even worse it might even end up in our food.

We realized as a manufacturer, we are part of the problem. We didn’t like that.

HOW WE DO IT?

Well, we came from the cannabis industry and have always been passionate about the endless possibilities of hemp.

While traveling through Yunnan, China and meeting with CBD farmers, we noticed they were burning unharvested hemp stalk left in the field.

SUSTAINABLE &
AFFORDABLE
HEMP PLASTICS
.
FINALLY.

We’re not scientists, but we figured creating endless miles of smoke was pretty bad for the environment, producing upwards of 2.5x more carbon dioxide (CO2) than normal.

So we set up a facility in Yunnan to clean and process the unharvested stalk that would later be combined with standard petroleum-based plastics we already used in our manufacturing.

By creating our own unique blend of hemp plastic, we use nearly 30% less petroleum-based plastics today.

It wasn’t as easy as we thought; learning how it impacted flow, flexibility, tensile strength, injection molding, shrinkage and extra maintenance was more than we bargained for, but after a year of R&D, we created our own hemp plastics that we use for a variety of different applications now.

LESS CARBON.
LESS PLASTIC.
LESS WASTE.

IMG_6095.jpg

Did you know that one hectare of hemp can absorb 22  tonnes  of CO2?

As we continue to use less petroleum-based plastics, we’re not only creating less waste, but we’ve dramatically reduced our carbon footprint within our supply chain.

In partnership with BIOSPHERE

Our hemp plastics accelerate the natural biodegradation of synthetic polymers, showing early test results of 10% biodegradation within only 30 days.

Simple Explanation - It starts breaking down really fast in a landfill compared to regular plastics.

Our dream is always ‘Made in USA’, but making stuff affordable isn’t always possible. So we did the next best thing. We set up shop in China.

Over time, we figured how to make our hemp plastics about the same price as standard plastics which makes the decision to ‘Do The Right Thing’ much easier for other makers of stuff like us.
